Memorial Day on the Oregon Coast!

On Memorial Day weekend we were able to spend time with Megan, Jeremy and their family on the Oregon coast.   Saturday morning we were able to attend a baseball game that Hyrum and Hunter played in - they are on the same team sponsored by Dairy Queen and can't wait for the season to be over, 'cause guess where they get to go!  When we got home we were talking about "Right Field" a favorite song of ours from Peter, Paul and Mary - if you've never seen them sing it, it's worth checking it out - just Google "right field" by those 3 singers and you'll enjoy it!
Scott even got to coach 1st base for an inning and was delighted:)  Brigg and his family joined us on Saturday for dinner and lots of play time at Meg and Jeremy's home. Memorial Day was very nice and we walked the Promenade in Seaside and had a great time.  Here are a few photos!

At Cannon Beach on Saturday

Only picture to prove Brigg and Havalah joined us Saturday was this was one of Luke and diapered only Dallen:)
Beautiful day on the Promenade in Seaside
Justin is very fair and so has to be careful not to get too much sun - he wore my fleece and his big hat - from behind he looked like a little Hobbit!  And a cute one too:)
Evenings in Seaside usually end at CandyMan for their special $1 ice cream cones!

Northwest Trek

For Mother's Day weekend Megan, Jeremy and the 5 kids came to visit - we had a wonderful time.  Friday we spent some time at the Hands-On Children's Museum, Friday night we celebrated Megan's birthday (last Wednesday), Saturday we spent the bulk of the day at Northwest Trek and Sunday in church!  What a wonderful time we had together.  Here are a few photo highlights of the weekend.

The porcupine became one of our favorites!  Oh - and Jeremy too!!
Majestic and beautiful bald eagles
Regal mountain goat
Large bison
We sat and watched two grizzly bears for quite some time - we enjoyed how close they were
Hyrum had asked us to help us with a school project in taking photos with "Flat Stanley" so we took him along this trip and got lots of great pictures - including this one being "eaten" by a stuffed grey wolf!
We saw lots more animals than shown - river otter, raccoon, wolverine, beaver, bighorn sheep, caribou, barn and snowy owls, golden eagles, deer, elk, lynx, bobcat, cougar, turkey vulture, red fox, grey wolf and some snakes.  The weather was cool and the animals were out! We also saw lots of baby animals which we have never seen at NW Trek before!
