It's been a long time since I've hiked to the top of Mt. Timpanogos in the backyard of where I grew up - American Fork Utah. Brigg and I hiked it on Friday July 18, 2008 - they must have changed the trail quite a bit because it was a much harder hike than it was 30 years ago when I did it last time! We had

We started out at 5:30 am and didn't need our head lamps but for 15 minutes. The moon was bright and we were blessed to see so many beautiful waterfalls like this one.

Brigg and I have climbed Mt. Elinor in the Olympics many times but have never seen mountain goats. Well we hit the jackpot this time as about 50 were lazily grazing in the meadow!

Our trip down was made a bit easier by sliding down the glacier - here is a view from the top before we began our great slide. We were so full of snow we were numb - it was great fun!
At the bottom of the glacier was beautiful Emerald Lake. What a great day we enjoyed.
